From furniture shop to interior design studio, evolution of a family-run business
Our Story
Our journey began in the 1960s as a family-run furniture business located along Buckingham Street in George Town, Penang. Originally known as Wah Bee Furniture and later Kenvey Furnishing Centre, we served generations of local families with quality furniture and personalised service.
In the early 1990s, the business expanded into custom kitchen cabinets and built-in carpentry under Ethnic Kitchen System. This marked the beginning of our experience in interior fit-out and renovation works.
By 2000, Ethnic evolved into a full interior design and renovation studio, offering complete design-and-build solutions for residential and commercial projects throughout Penang.
Today, we continue to combine interior design expertise, renovation coordination, and furniture craftsmanship under one brand — helping clients build spaces that are functional, comfortable, and long-lasting.
