History
From furniture shop to interior design studio, evolution of a family-run business
Our journey began in the early 60s as a humble retail furniture shop, first known as Wah Bee Furniture and later as Kenvey Furnishing Centre, situated on Buckingham Street. Serving the homes in the heart of George Town, we embarked on a transformative multi-generational voyage.
In the early 90s, under the visionary leadership of our founder, Mr. Chan, we expanded from a furniture business into a custom-built kitchen and cabinetry enterprise, known as Ethnic Kitchen System. This marked our first step into the realm of interior fit-out. Over the years, we delivered exceptional quality in hundreds of cabinetry projects.
The turning point arrived in 2000 when Ethnic ID was officially incorporated. We emerged as a full-fledged creative interior design studio and renovator, enriching our family business legacy. Today, we take immense pride in our partnership as a King-Koil mattress dealer and as specialists in retailing high-quality teak furniture in our furniture arm.

Passed down from the pioneer generations, our furniture store is a 4th-generation run boutique furniture shop that showcases handpicked wood furniture. Specialised in real wood furniture, a proud dealer of King-Koil mattress.
