History
From furniture shop to interior design studio, evolution of a family-run business
Started as a retail furniture shop (Wah Bee Furniture, later Kenvey Furnishing Centre) on Buckingham Street in the early 70s serving homes in the heart George Town, Ethnic has gone through multi-generations of transformation.
In the early 90s, founder – Chan, evolved the furniture business of Chan family to custom-built kitchen and cabinetry (Ethnic Kitchen System), ventured the first step into interior fit-out business. Ethnic then started delivering hundreds of quality cabinetry.
Ethnic ID was finally incorporated in 2000, becoming a full-fledge creative interior design studio and renovator, while continuing on the legacy of family business. We are proud partners of King-Koil mattress and retailing high quality teak furniture in our furniture arm.

Passed down from the pioneer generations, our furniture store is a 4th-generation run boutique furniture shop that showcases handpicked wood furniture. Specialised in real wood furniture, a proud dealer of King-Koil mattress.
